Fine Motor Coordination

Adult humans are typically able to carry out actions that require very precise hand-eye coordination. However, humans appear to possess a greater degree of upper limb control, particularly in the hands and fingers, allowing them to effectively use small and precise tools such as writing implements. Great apes do not seem to possess the same degree of control, making them appear less coordinated at fine motor actions.  It is unclear whether given the opportunity and training, they would be able to achieve the same level of proficiency that humans can.
