In humans, serum B12 levels and unsaturated vitamin B12-binding capacity (UBBC) has been shown to fluctuate with neutrophil levels. As neutrophil numbers are much higher in non-human hominids, it would be interesting to study B12 and B12 binding capacity in these species.
