Henry Harpending- Bio
Henry Harpending is Professor of Anthropology at the University of Utah. He has also been on the faculty at the University of New Mexico and Pennsylvania State University. His central interests are human population genetics, demography, and family organization. He has done extensive fieldwork in the northern Kalahari desert with Khoisan speaking foragers and with Bantu speaking ranchers. He has also published about modern human origins, in particular about genetic evidence pertaining to the mechanism of replacement of Neanderthals by anatomically modern humans. He is on the editorial boards of several journals in biological anthropology and several more general journals.
