&lt;p&gt;In 1991, Fleagle and colleagues published a manuscript announcing new hominin teeth from the FJ-4 locality at the site of Fejej in southern Ethiopia (Fleagle et al., 1991). These fossils include a heavily worn associated dentition with six teeth (FJ-4-SB-1), and an unworn P4 (FJ-4-SB-2), which is an unerupted tooth and is either a supernumerary tooth from the same individual or is from a second individual (Fig. 1). As suggested by Fleagle et al. (1991), FJ-4-SB-2 most likely represents another individual, as it has only a single fused root, while that of FJ-4-SB-1 appears to have had two roots, and FJ-4-SB-2 is smaller than FJ-4-SB-1c.&lt;/p&gt;
