It is postulated that the craniosynostosis is the result of iatrogenic hyperthyroidism during a critical period of skull growth. Various regimens of treatment for hypothyroidism are discussed with recommendations for avoiding this potentially hazardous complication of therapy.&lt;/p&gt;
