Thank you to everyone (in-person or online) who contributed to the success of CARTA’s public symposium, "Comparative Anthropogeny and Other Approaches to Human Origins," on Friday, November 3, 2023, at Salk!
CARTA is pleased to report another successful public symposium, with close to 480 viewers sharing the experience of "Comparative Anthropogeny and Other Approaches to Human Origins," with us in real-time from around the world! Approximately 115 individuals were in our audience at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies and more than 365 watched the livestream from 25 countries and territories: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Costa Rica, Croatia, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Portugal, Serbia, Singapore, the U.S. Virgin Islands, United Kingdom, United States, and Venezuela. Thank you to everyone who took the time to join us, at the same moment with their fellow humans!
Enjoy the symposium again to immerse yourself in our continuing human story:
If you would like to enjoy the experience again, or if you missed all or part of the symposium, please stay tuned! As usual, all talks, as well as the live audience Q&A/expert discussion, were recorded and will be aired on UCSD-TV in the coming months. All recorded CARTA symposia are permanently archived online on multiple sites, including CARTA's Video Archives, UCSD-TV, iTunes, and YouTube. Professionally edited recordings include high-quality closed captions to enhance your viewing experience. Closed captions are made possible through support from viewers like you, this time through the generosity of CARTA Patrons Ingrid Benirschke-Perkins & Gordon Perkins. We will share an update as soon as videos become available online.
Support CARTA:
If CARTA has added value to your understanding of ourselves as a uniquely adapted species, you can help us to produce additional informative content and share it for FREE with everyone, well into the future, by contributing to our general-use Center for Academic Research and Training in Anthropogeny (CARTA) Fund.
With the immense benefit of in-person interaction comes greater production expenses as well. Every level of support helps us to revive and thrive in person. Full or partial underwriting is available for upcoming symposia. Email khunter@ucsd.edu or visit our support page for more information!
We hope you will join us for upcoming symposia:
