Meredith Rutledge is a Ph.D. student in the Anthropology department under the mentorship of Dr. Carol Marchetto and Dr. Pascal Gagneux. She is interested in utilizing an evolutionary lens to understand modern physiologic and emotional response to high stress exposure. She would like to investigate neurologic and genetic differences between humans and nonhuman primates to better understand human vulnerability to the aftermath of stressful emotional experience or illness. Generally, she is interested in sexual conflict theory, gene-culture coevolution, gXe interactions and neurodevelopmental distinctions between humans and nonhuman primates.
