Elaine Videan- Bio
Elaine Videan is the Research Director for the Primate Foundation of Arizona (PFA), a private, nonprofit, biomedicalresearch facility accredited by the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC-I). PFA ispresently home to 73 chimpanzees. PFA serves as a sub-contract of the University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Michael E. Keeling Center for Comparative Medicine and Research in Bastrop, Texas. PFA's goals have always been to maintain the quality and integrity of our portion of the Global Chimpanzee Resource while supporting human health-related research. The PFA colony, together with over 30 years of interdisciplinary databases, provides a powerful resource for genetic, biomedical, behavioral, skeletal, and physiological research. None of us can predict what the future needs of the biomedical community will be. However, we have a huge responsibility to preserve this resource, to continue to make it readily available to the
research community, and to use it efficiently for the benefit of humanity. PFA and the chimpanzees are here to assist all of you in your goals, while we maintain our goals of keeping your resource well and contented.
