At present, the stated goals of CARTA are primarily scholarly -- taking a transdisciplinary approach towards explaining the origins of the human phenomenon, and training a new generation of scholars in this field. However, the CARTA leadership recognizes the value of educating the academic community and the public at large about current knowledge regarding human origins, as well as the implications of this knowledge for many practical issues affecting the current human condition. We aim to do this by conducting public symposia and lectures on topics related to human origins, partnering with institutions and organizations with similar goals and interests, and collaborating with publishers and science media in order to disseminate this knowledge.
