Account Information

Some CARTA services require the creation of an account on this site.

You must be at least 16 years old to create a CARTA website account. Minors under 16 and at least 13 years of age are only permitted to use our site through an account owned by a parent or legal guardian with their appropriate permission and under their direct supervision. Children under 13 are not permitted to create CARTA website accounts. You are responsible for any and all account activity conducted by a minor on your account.

User verification on the Internet is not easy and we do not assume any responsibility for the confirmation of any account holder’s identity. We do not require account holders to provide a form of government identification or other information or undertake additional checks designed to help verify the identities.

You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the password associated with your account and for restricting access to your password on all devices being used to access our services. You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account or from your computer and mobile devices. We endeavor to use reasonable security measures to protect against unauthorized access to your account information in CARTA. We cannot, however, guarantee absolute security of your account, or the personal information you provide, and we cannot promise that our security measures will prevent theft of your digital information by a third party. You agree to immediately notify CARTA of any unauthorized use of your account or password, or any other breach of security, and confirm that you understand all risks of unauthorized access to CARTA and any information including personal information you provide to CARTA.

Endorsements

CARTA may link to third-party websites, services and resources which may be subject to different terms and conditions and privacy practices. Links from this web site to any other site do not imply our endorsement of that site’s products or services. References to anyone’s products or services, or to any organization, do not imply our endorsement of such products, services, or organizations.

Restrictions on use of materials

All trademarks, service marks, and trade names are the property of UCSD and the Regents of the University of California, unless noted otherwise. No material from this site may be copied, reproduced, republished, uploaded, posted, transmitted, or distributed in any way, without explicit permission, except that you may download one copy of the materials on any single computer for your personal, non-commercial home use only, provided you keep intact all copyright and other proprietary notices. Modification of the materials or use of the materials for any other purpose is a violation of UCSD’s copyright and other proprietary rights. For purposes of these terms, the use of any such material on any other web site or networked computer environment is prohibited.
