Foraging and Cooking Wild Tubers
In response to a recent study on dietary fiber in human evolution, we wanted to show how modern Hadza hunter-gatherers find and cook wild tubers. Early members of genus Homo may have done exactly the same, providing necessary calories for their expanding brains. Most people today get their dietary carbohydrates from the potato, a New World crop, but it is important to note wild tubers played a key role in our evolution.
