For the first time in its history, CARTA offered a live webcast of its public symposium on “Human Origins: Lessons from Autism Spectrum Disorders.” Viewers could follow the proceedings live from their home or office, using any Internet-accessible device, by simply connecting to the live feed posted on the symposium event page. Viewers from as far away as The Netherlands, Canada, and Mexico tuned in to the live stream. Given its popularity, CARTA will continue to offer the live webcast for all future public symposia. Delayed viewing options for the symposia will still exist for those who miss the live event. UCSD-TV video records all CARTA symposia for later broadcasting on the UCSD-TV channel, before being archived at the CARTA website, the UCSD-TV site, iTunes and YouTube.
