Acne vulgaris is a common skin condition in humans, which manifests as an inflammatory eruption involving the face, upper back, and chest, and consisting of blackheads, cysts, papules, and pustules caused by altered biology of apocrine sweat glands. It tends to appear around puberty, is especially prominent during adolescence. Acne apparently does not occur in great apes.
