Humans have domesticated plants for uses ranging from consumption to decoration. Many types of vegetation have been domesticated: flowers, grains, underground plants such as potatoes, weeds for vegetables and construction, grasses for cereals, trees for food and timber. There is no evidence of plant domestication among great apes.
