Absolute Difference
MOCA Domain:
Human labor is an extremely painful process for the mother, due to the difficult passage of the baby through the birth canal. Videotaped studies of great apes during labor have suggested that they do not grimace a great deal and they do not vocalize much in pain unless there is a complication of some kind. The reasons for this difference are likely mostly mechanical.
