Juan Luis Arsuaga is Professor of Paleontology at the Complutense University of Madrid, and Co-director of the research and excavation team at the Pleistocene sites of the Sierra de Atapuerca, which have yielded an incredible collection of human fossils and evidence of early human activities. He is also the Director of the joint UCM-ISCIII Research Center of Human Evolution and Behavior, and a member of the National Academy of Sciences, USA. He is the author of numerous important scientific publications in international journals and has also written essays and popular science best-sellers in Spain, some of which have been translated into several languages, i.e.“The Neanderthal’s Necklace”,“Green Fire” and “The Chosen Species.”
