A Great Success: "Comparative Anthropogeny: Exploring the Human-Ape Paradox," presented by CARTA on Oct. 24, 2020

Oct 26, 2020

Thank you to all who participated in CARTA’s second digital symposium, "Comparative Anthropogeny: Exploring the Human-Ape Paradox", this past Saturday, October 24!

We’re pleased to have once again surpassed our previous online viewing record (set at our last online symposium in Spring 2020), this time with viewers watching from at least 36 countries across our website and Zoom: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Columbia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, The Federation of Saint Kitts & Nevis, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Uruguay.

If you would like to enjoy the presentations and Q&A again, or if you missed all or part of the symposium, the talks and Q&A will be aired on UCSD-TV in a few weeks’ time and then permanently archived online at multiple websites, including CARTA, UCSD-TV, iTunes, and YouTube. The talks that are posted on YouTube will contain high-quality closed captions to enhance your viewing experience. These closed captions are made possible through support from viewers like you, this time from Ingrid Benirschke-Perkins & Gordon Perkins, and Kathlyn Furr. We will post an update as soon as videos become available online.

This event would not have been possible without the support of CARTA supporters like you! If CARTA added value to your understanding of ourselves as a uniquely adapted species, you can help ensure that we are able to produce additional informative content and share it for free to everyone, well into the future, by contributing to our CARTA Symposium Fund today!

The CARTA team is busy finalizing planning for our Winter 2021 symposium program (Date to be determined ~ an online-only event) "Altered States of the Human Mind: Implications for Anthropogeny", with Co-Chairs: Patricia Churchland (UC San Diego) & Jean-Pierre Changeux (Collège de France).

We hope that you will join us again!
