Patricia Lambert is a Distinguished Professor of Anthropology in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Utah State University. Her research focuses on the health consequences of economic transitions (esp. agricultural origins and intensification) and on reconstructing patterns of violence and warfare in prehistoric North and South America through the analysis of human skeletal remains from archaeological sites. Her work in Southern California and the American Southwest has documented a clear link between climate change (drought) and escalating violence and warfare after A.D. 1000 in these regions.
